Dundee University faces job cutsThey said the proposals had been put forward as part of a move to boost income to £6.8m by 2010.
A spokesman said the cuts would amount to less than 100 jobs and that alternatives to compulsory redundancy would be sought.
The plan, being opposed by the University and College Union, has yet to be approved.
Dundee University said the cuts related to smaller departments, such as town and regional planning and modern languages, and pointed out that it had steadily been employing staff in life sciences.
