| Complete opposite for me. I had a conversation with this genius prodigy and it went on for the entire period and some of math. I don't think my s.s. teacher was happy about it because we were debating without the rest of our group...my friend said I was "blurbing". | |

| I think Obama is exactly what this country needs. And with the reckless spending thing. The stimulus bill is not reckless without money flowing through our economy it will come to a complete collapse like back in the 30s. We can't repeat the mistakes of the past and he knows it if the government did what it did last time saving its money we would need some miracle for us to craw back out. We only came out of the depression with the coming of WWII and hopefully we won't come to that this time. | |

| Didn't the depression of the 30's result from reckless spending and recession causing banks to fall? Where is this money coming from? How will he get it back? How come not a single Republican didn't vote yes in House. You'd think at last five out of 176 would agree.
But besides that. What about this digital converter deal? Why is the goverment paying for people to watch TV??? If people can afford TV, they can afford a digital converter box. TV isn't a necessity. The ceel phone thing drives me nuts the most. I've seen first graders with Blackberries and iPhones. Are people really THAT poor? Americans don't understand the true meaning of poverty...
Wow. I'm sounding like a Republican...What a horrid thought...Just things I doubt.

| The Depression of the 1930's did come from reckless spending but when the recession was upon the nation the government and the rest of the population stopped spending therefore the economy came to a crashing halt and only WWII dragged us out of it. The stimulus package is named because they want to try and stimulate the economy and the spending again. Like in Australia the government pretty much created jobs where there were none almost like the telling people to dig holes and then fill them up again just to keep the economy moving. Yes he may be spending big and on things that may seem stupid but it is only to boost the economy not necessarily because of the things he is spending it on. | |

| *shrugs* I try. I don't want to be ignorant of what the government is doing that would freak me out. There is no way of knowing if the stimulus will work but I'm an optimist so I really hope it will. | |

| Hehe. I'm a pessimist. I see how digging ditches could help, or war, since there's filling the hole and war debts to restore lost income and increase jobs. Spending money will help, that's for sure, but that much? Worries me a bit. Obama hasn't done anything to provoke me yet, so I'll try to hope. He screws this up though, and this country's doomed. | |

| -I will keep my opinion on the Optimist/Pessimist thing-
But, I think obama could be good for the Country. But he has to make sure everything is thought out. Or he can/will screw up. If not planned or executed right... we will be back into a depression, such as the one in 1920....
But I agree with Zeph, if he screws up. The US is done... It cannot take another Depression....
It is bad enough right now, My town is losing more jobs than we can afford.... I can't even find work right now, because most of the places are closing down or having layoffs.... (and workforce isnt helping either -go figure-)
-sigh- This is what happens when we give the power and fate of the country to one man..... Lets hope it works this time -unlike Former President Bush....-

| Ach. My town is seeing a lot of moving houses...Anyway, Obama has some kind of personality that makes people happy...Did you know that only 58% of people polled say that Obama will succeed? Mesh. I read too much news, and considering my age, I'm a strange freak. Still, I can't believe politicians are worrying about BEDBUGS instead of jobs, idiotic in my opinion. Sure, people get sick from them, but it's a small problem in the whole picture. | |

| I don't know it seems like a lot of people don't want Obama to succeed just to prove a point. Have you guys seen any of the Boston tea partyers in your town? Please people give it up, your taxes are some of the lowest in the world if you want to keep your country afloat you have to give a little. | |

| Yeah. All of the cities around me are having Tea Parties. As you said Alice,, taxes are low. What needs to be fixed is Health Insurance... | |

| Uh, never saw a tea party or whatever. Anyway, I agree on Health Insurance, but I'd rather focus on jobs. See, if they had jobs, people would get better health insurances...unless I'm wrong? | |
